I went with my partner on a special occasion. We ordered a la carte.
I really know my Japanese so it was easy choosing from the basic menu.

The sashimi was REALLY fresh so I don't really understand that review above,
The sirloin steak came out perfect med rare with an amazing sauce.

Winners: tempura oysters, nasu dengaku, edamame, tsukune, b&a, warm salad, sushi& sashimi, tsuki steak,

The desserts are probably the only surprise as they aren't Japanese.

(Mr & Mrs P) must have had a fight before he arrived to write a review like that.
The food wasn't all that bad.

in terms of the food, i would have to agree with the review above. the food we ordered were quite average for the price that was paid. you could have got the same quality meal from a myriad of "cheaper" japanese lunch places in the city.

the atmosphere is quite acceptable. the seating arrangement are a novelty, as the leg space is below ground level (like an inground spa). when one is sitting at the table it looks like they are sitting lotus positioned on the floor under a short leg table. the view of the city from this vantage point is very pleasant.

one funny thing about this restaurant was the communal toilet. I dont mean a single shared toilet. i mean a facility with multiple stalls used by both sexes. dont be surprised if you walk into the facility only to bump into the person of the opposite gender walking out. almost everyone will go back to the door and check if they went through the right door. quite amusing.

What a HUGE disappointment!

Food Ordered: The Banquet for 2 at $65 a head

Food Quality: Below Average, looked like we got the fish off-cuts in the sashimi dish (Salmon and Tuna), the beef was tough, dry and looked like a worn leather shoe.

Staff: Friendly but clueless

Wine: Limited and Shocking selection

Last words: EXTREMELY overpriced for the quality of food served (Not fresh at all). Will not dine there again.
